Saif Ali Khan On Not Speaking About CAA Protest - ‘Taking Either Stand Sometimes Have Different Results’
During a recent conversation, when Saif Ali Khan was asked about not raising his voice against the ongoing political issue of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) or speaking on either side, he said that taking either stand sometimes can have different results.
Majority of Bollywood celebs have been voicing their opinion on the ongoing political issues of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), but many have been accused of keeping mum and not raising their voices too. Talk about Anurag Kashyap, after calling Akshay Kumar spineless, the filmmaker has called out Amitabh Bachchan, in a cryptic reply, for not sharing his opinion against the CAA protest taking place in different places of India. As Saif Ali Khan is currently on a promotional spree of his upcoming film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, he shared why he hasn’t yet spoken for or against the ongoing issue in the country.
When asked about why he hasn’t spoken on either side, he told Bombay Times, “I think, in a country like ours, taking either stand sometimes can have different results than what happens normally in an environment where people can voice views and discuss stuff and life goes on. It is a slightly more volatile environment, where the impact of what you say is louder, and some people enjoy that impact, I guess. I am not sure that I do, so I am still trying to form my opinion.” (ALSO READ: CAA Protest: Gulzar's 'Mitron' Remark Stirs Up, Legendary Poet Says, 'Scared Of Dilli-waalahs')
He further added, “It is a very interesting time and a disturbing time and you hear a lot of things, on one hand. And you are wondering how the country is going to define itself. That’s on one hand. And honestly, on the other hand, and I don’t mean to offend anyone when I say this, I have never been happier living in my country. The kind of medical treatment that is available to me and my family, the education for my kids, the professional employment and the work I am getting, everything about my life in India is better than it has ever been. So, I am hopeful.”
